Repair Cafe Volunteer

Are you good at fixing things? Can you sew? Do you have a skill you’d like to share? Can you make cups of coffee and tea? Can you help to welcome and register people?

Volunteer roles include:

  • Repairing broken items including toys, kitchen appliances, small furniture, pots and pans, bric a brac, garden tools, jewellery, shoes etc
  • Sewing including clothing and fabric repairs (machine & handsewing), patches, darning, hemming, buttons, zippers etc
  • Sharing skills may include origami seed packets, bicycle maintenance, garden tool maintenance, simple sewing skills, computer skills and more!
  • Just chat with us if you’d like to get involved but not sure what skills you can bring!

Eastside Repair Café is held at the Warrane Mornington Neighbourhood Centre, 150a Bligh Street, Warrane from 2:00 – 4:00 pm on the last Saturday of each month. Volunteers are needed from 1:00 – 5:00pm and it’s up to you how often you would like to attend.

There are currently 2405 repair cafe’s worldwide involving 36,075 volunteers and repairing an estimated 43,290 items every month!
