Wildlife Hospital Reception Volunteers

About Byron Bay Wildlife Hospital and the position:
Byron Bay Wildlife Hospital provides urgent care to threatened and injured Australian animals. BBWH operates from a customised semi-trailer veterinary hospital (nicknamed Matilda) that can be rushed to wherever the wildlife emergency is, but in the meantime has a home base at the Byron Bay Wildlife Sanctuary in Knockrow. We operate full-time veterinary services for wildlife year-round with an expert veterinary team. BBWH works in collaboration with wildlife care groups to provide care and rehabilitation for native wildlife impacted by diseases, habitat loss, traffic, urbanisation and pollution.
Our hospital receptionist will be the first point of contact for members of the public and wildlife carers. Whilst our vets and nurses are busy at work in the hospital, the receptionist will oversee the admission and discharge of wildlife patients as well as paperwork, phone calls and more. The receptionist will be temporarily stationed outside our semi-trailer hospital until our rehabilitation building is erected onsite later this year.
