Tutoring Volunteers Wanted

Scientology Melbourne has been running a volunteer tutoring program to assist refugee children with their homework since 2010. A lot of their parents don't speak fluent English and are limited in their ability to help their children with their homework. Therefore the Homework Club was established!

The age of children that need tutoring ranges from Prep to Year 12 and covers all types of subject. When we start a new volunteer, we find out from you what subjects you are comfortable working with, and what ages. We will match you up with a child that fits that category to the best of our ability. Even just one hour a week helping a child with reading can make a huge difference.

The tutoring sessions are done at face-to-face Homework Club sessions or online over Zoom.

To participate as a volunteer tutor you will need a current Victorian Working With Children Check (free for volunteers).

The first interview will be conducted in person so you must be prepared to come and see us in Ascot Vale to begin.
