Listening Ear is a non-critical, confidential helpline with trained, caring volunteers who offer support, understanding and a friendly ear. We are not counsellors, but we use our life experience, empathy and listening skills to help people in the community who are upset, worried or lonely and just want someone to talk to. Calls are confidential. We do not judge. We do not ask for personal information. We do not promise to solve problems. It is surprising how nice it is to be heard by someone who is prepared to LISTEN.
Volunteers in the Sydney area with empathy, life experience and a desire to give back to the community only should apply.
All training is provided. Fortnightly professional development workshops are held alternately on Zoom and at Lindfield. Calls are taken from your own home. Flexible shifts, depending on your own availability, are once a week for 4 Hours, between 9am-9pm (9am-1pm, 1pm-5pm, 5pm-9pm) Training will be on Zoom next training to be advised.
Orientation and Training for new volunteers dates to be advised Cost $165.
