A little bit about us, we’re a Catholic not for profit organisation, providing services to 7,600 people across Victoria. VMCH services are as diverse as the people we support. Every day of the year our teams provide a wide range of support from early learning and therapy, specialist education, disability services, affordable homes, residential aged care, retirement living and at-home aged care

How Social visitors can engage with Residents • Visit face to face to support older person living in residential care • Be matched with someone you can chat with about shared and common interests, • reminiscing old stories • walk through our gardens together • meet in the library for a game of cards, complete a puzzle • support a resident to participate in organised facility activities. People who choose to volunteer with VMCH will

• Have great verbal communication skills, to be able to keep a conversation going • Allow us to fit into your schedule, let us know your availability and we will find the best match for you with some of the residents with similar interests. • create new special memories for yourself and for residents who benefit from your gift of time.

What volunteers at VMCH like to know before they start • Applicants need to be willing to be part of a team environment. • Minimum 2-hour regular commitment • Forming connections does take time, so consider the benefits to longer-term volunteering Volunteering even a small amount of time, provides connection and companionship, which can have a major and direct impact on the lives of others. If you are a student or looking for work in the industry, a retiree or working fulltime, if you have a regular couple of hours to spare consider spending time at VMCH creating special memories.
