We are seeking applications from enthusiastic individuals for the role of Adoption Coordinator. This important role helps Furry Friends achieve its objective of finding loving and permanent homes for rescued or surrendered cats while helping to ensure responsible and compassionate pet ownership.

Key responsibilities:

  • Adoption counselling - provide information and guidance to potential adopters about the adoption process, available cats, and pet care requirements; assess the suitability of adopters based on their lifestyle, home environment, and preferences
  • Animal evaluation and matching; conduct behavioural assessments and evaluations of cats to determine their temperament, needs and compatibility with potential adopters; match cats with appropriate families or individuals based on their characteristics and the adopter’s expectations
  • Collaboration with pet adoption agencies - liaise and coordinate with PetBarn for the promotion of cats within their stores to increase pet visibility and encourage their adoptions
  • Post-adoption follow-up - conduct follow-up checks after adoption to help ensure the well-being of adopted cats and address any issues or concerns; encourage and facilitate positive interactions between adopters and their new pets

Commitment Required

  • 5-10 hours per week for a minimum commitment of 6 months
