Volunteer Guide
Australian National Botanic Gardens
Volunteer Guides have provided free guided walks and tours in the Australian National Botanic Gardens for more than 30 years. While the Volunteer Guide role is to enhance the visitor experience, you will also have the opportunity to increase your knowledge of Australian native plants, meet like-minded people and build new friendships.
No botanical background is required as we provide a comprehensive training program, mentorship and professional development opportunities to equip you with the knowledge and skills you need for guiding.
The Volunteer Guides role includes: Free guided walks daily at 11am and 2pm. Flora Explorer bus tours on weekends, public holidays and during school holidays. Guided walks and Flora Explorer bus tours for booked groups on request.
Information sessions will be held online on Thurs 18 Jan 2024 at 10:30am, and in person on Wed 24 Jan 2024 at 5pm in the ANBG theatrette.
Interviews will be held in February 2024 with training starting mid-March, 2 days per week over 6 weeks (excluding school holidays).
