Since its inception, Mahboba’s Promise has established schools, shelters, health clinics, supplied resources and built critical infrastructure across Afghanistan while assisting other non-profits like UNICEF. The organisation has also provided sponsorships to widows and orphans in need helping those who need it most to secure a more equitable quality of life.

Job Summary:

We are looking for a hungry and energetic volunteer Operations Coordinator Assistant to join our dynamic Operations Team at Mahboba's Promise. The position will be integral to unlocking inefficiencies, tapping into new ways of working and catalysing the organisation to reach new heights. As an Operations All-Rounder you will be responsible for a range of administrative activities including providing support to the Operations Manager, supporting donor care activities, as well as designing and developing projects that will impact organisational efficiency and communication. You will be working closely with the Operations Manager but will also have the chance to be embedded in several teams across the organisation to optimise the various tasks and activities they perform. To do this you are autonomous, a proactive problem solver, and can coordinate multiple work streams.

At least one person is needed for each working day, so the most desirable working days and number of open positions may change as applications are reviewed and accepted. There are 5 to 10 positions available.

Responsibilities:

  • Liaise with team members to understand processes and produce documentation and process maps from these interactions.

  • Use problem-solving skills to identify problems and design and develop solutions proactively.

  • Identify issues within and across platforms and work collaboratively with the Operations Manager and IT Manager to optimize platforms.

  • Work with the HR team to ensure the HR system and volunteer experience is best-in-class.

  • Contribute to the Governance & Compliance Team in managing grants pipelines and writing, policy reviewal, and other governance-related tasks.

  • Work collaboratively with the Marketing & Communications Team to ensure they have the necessary resources to manage campaigns, appeals and other critical marketing initiatives across various platforms.

  • Assist the Sponsorships/Donor Care Team in communicating with existing donors and iterate on processes used during these kind of activities.

  • Ability to learn new IT programs and quickly come up to speed

  • Excellent problem-solving skills with strong attention to detail

  • An enthusiastic and positive nature that can work collaboratively in a team environment

  • Bachelor's degree (or working towards one)

  • An interest in international affairs and development, the NFP sector and/or Afghanistan and its development context.
