The Boroondara Volunteer Resource Centre is advertising this role on behalf of Each.

The NILS (No Interest Loans) Program supports low-income individuals and families in providing loans to the value of $2000. NILS volunteers have the chance to make a real difference to members of the community who are in need. NILS loans can be used to assist with the purchase of essential household items (e.g. white goods) or essential expenses. The volunteer would assist applicants with their application and the process it entails e.g. collating financial documents etc.

Tasks and Responsibilities:

  • Responding to incoming telephone queries for appointments
  • Booking in face to face (or telephone appointments)
  • Ensuring clients have provided appropriate supporting documentation with their application
  • Meeting with applicants and reviewing documentation – including the processing of information through the “My Nils App” and submission of the application (training of the MyNilsApp will be part of the role).
  • Any further liaison with applicants and Cockatoo Nils as may be required.
