About Us

Goonawarra Neighbourhood House is a not-for-profit organisation which offers a range of programs supporting the needs of our community. We seek to be inclusive and supportive of people from diverse backgrounds and varying abilities. We believe every individual has inherent worth, knowledge and skills.

Volunteers are vitally important to the successful running of the Goonawarra Neighbourhood House programs. We value the contributions of our volunteers and aim to provide meaningful opportunities for our volunteers to share their unique skills and interests.

The role

Goonawarra Neighbourhood House is managed by an elected Committee of Management made up of local volunteers. The committee guides the house's governance and strategic vision. Committee members play a vital part in the house's ongoing operation. Please note that we are hoping to find individuals who work, rest or play in Sunbury or surrounds.

List of tasks

  • Engaging in bi-monthly Committee meetings
  • Attending occasional Goonawarra Neighbourhood House events
  • Reviewing Agenda, Minutes and Discussion items
  • Providing input, ideas, and perspectives on business items affecting the houses’ operations
  • Role-specific tasks apply to Executive Members (Secretary, Treasurer, Deputy-Chair)

Desirable (but not required) skills & experience

We are current seeking individuals who have a background in Community Development, the Community Services sector and/or Human Resources
