Volunteer Driver - Parramatta Meals on Wheels

Meals on Wheels requires a volunteer with availability 8:30am - approx. 11am
Meals on Wheels service has volunteers who deliver meals to older people and people with disability living in the Parramatta LGA on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday mornings. Drivers are responsible for driving to our Hunter Street office then to customers homes with a helper.

Essential qualifications:
- Valid Drivers License
- Access to a comprehensively insured motor vehicle
- Able to volunteer from 8:30am onwards
- Reliable with flexible availability
- Physically mobile and able to carry 5-10 kilograms using a trolley
- Able to commit for a period of time, for example, minimum 6 months.
- Able to work in partnership with your helper
- Respectful with paid staff, volunteers and the people you are delivering to.
Desirable skills, attributes, qualifications:
- Friendly and enjoy talking with staff, volunteers and participants
- Experience dealing with older people and people with disability
- Experience dealing with difficult people

City of Parramatta Community Care Team provides services for older people, adults living with a disability and carers of these people. Our team of 60 Volunteers are vital to our services. Volunteers are supported with training, travel reimbursements, and ongoing supervision and support. There are opportunities to socialise with other volunteers throughout the year during recognition events and outside of your role. If you are reliable and have a passion for helping your community, we would like for you to consider joining our team of volunteers.
All volunteers must undergo a Criminal History Record Check, a NDIS Worker Screen and provide 2 referees.
