Whittlesea Food Collective Warehouse Assistant Volunteer

The Warehouse Assistant Volunteer is a volunteering position that will help to effectively manage the warehouse for the Food Collective Emergency Relief Program, food market and other enterprises.

The warehouse assistant volunteer reports to the Whittlesea Food Collective Coordinator.

Overview of Duties • Unload trucks and receive incoming shipments of food items and verify their accuracy against purchase orders. • Label, sort, and store food products in designated warehouse locations. • Organise Stock shelves and fridges. • Stock control and rotate stock and monitor expiration dates to minimize waste. • Keep area safe and tidy. • Report hazards to manager or staff member. • Correctly storing produce to maximise freshness. • Liaising with project coordinators, and operations. • Pack hampers. • Sort donations. • Occasional driving of truck to pick up food and supplies.
