Safe Pets Safe Families is behind the Paws and Pals initiative which provides free pop up clinics for the homeless, disadvantaged and their pets. Routine and preventative vet care is provided by volunteer vets and vet nurses but the clinics require administrative and logistical support.

Roles available include:

  • Paws & Pals Project Lead - Liaise with key stakeholders including but not limited to community partners, councils, paws & pals coordinators, media, sponsors, call and host meetings, create a calendar of events, present annual reports, create content for social media and other PR opportunities.monitoring cost, ordering stock and submitting budgets and seeking sponsorship or writing grants (or delegating the grant writing and sponsorship and then communicating and working with that person). Seeking tow project leads, for both Adelaide & Riverland.

  • Paws & Pals Clinnic Coordinator - The clinics are held on a Sunday, 4 times per year in various locations. The coordinator manages one or more locations depending on availability. This is a committed role and you will need to be available for a couple of days in the two weeks prior to each clinic and then attend and coordinate on clinic day. A phone would be provided to call clients and book them in. The coordinator will liaise with the animal service coordinator on the number of various consumables required, create a Facebook event, coordinate transports, greet and direct clients as they arrive on the day. Following the clinic you will liaise with caseworkers regarding matters arising from the clinic exam. You will also ensure we have enough stock at the warehouse prior to each clinic, coordinate volunteers and other community organisations joining us (eg. BBQ's, hairdressers, groomers etc).

  • Animal Services Coordinator - Set up a roster for the Adelaide area clinic(s) by liaising with the volunteers, vets, nurses & groomers. Liaise with overall coordinator regarding stock. Maintaining spreadsheets with volunteer info, rosters, stock inventory.

  • Paws & Pals outreach workers - coordinate any follow up vet appointments identified at a clinic or any other assistance we can provide or case management needed. Phone will be provided. Required for all Adelaide and Riverland clinics.

  • Riverland Admin - Collect booking form/exam forms after each clinic and enter data into a spreadsheet and microchip forms into DACO. Email clients a copy. Complete council forms for events etc. Keep a mailing list of community partners and notify of each upcoming clinic and email out booking forms.

  • Riverland Professional Photographer - capture the magic moments.

  • General volunteers - to aid in the set up and smooth running of the clinics, transport pets and clients to clinics
