About 3CR

3CR is a dynamic, community hub that has produced radio since 1976. Currently we have over 400 volunteers, 2 full-time staff members and 5 part-time staff members.3CR broadcasters present around 120 radio programs every week, with 20 community language shows in 13 different languages, and 10 hours of Indigenous programming, and listeners can tune in on 855AM, 3CR Digital, stream live online or via an app, access audio on demand or download podcasts of our shows. The radio station was established in 1976 to provide a voice for those denied access to the mass media, particularly the working class, women, Indigenous people and the many community groups and community issues discriminated against in and by the mass media.

About Climate Action Show

The Climate Action show presents information on climate change - what's hot and what's not. Find out what is happening in community campaigns around the country, as well as the latest science and the solutions that are available now. Broadcast at 5-6pm on Mondays, and available on podcast, we bring you the latest news about the climate.

The program features research, activism and the communities who work to protect our environment and inform our listeners about current climate science and campaigns, both locally and internationally.

About the role

Responsibilities

• Producing and presenting Climate Action Show once a month
• Uploading podcasts to 3CR’s website
• Promoting your show on social media channels
• Contributing to raising donations for 3CR’s Annual Radiothon fundraiser

Experience

Although no radio experience is necessary, an understanding of climate science, connection to current climate campaigns and care for the environment is essential. This is the perfect role for someone who wants to gain experience in media, science communication and community organisation. Radio Training is available, and all presenters must be subscribers of 3CR.
