Supported by our Activities Officer, you will be introduced to our Residents that will benefit the most from having a Volunteer spend quality one-on-one time with them on a regular basis. Your visit durations will vary depending on the Resident's health and circumstances on the day, and you will have a list of Residents from which to choose to visit on each occasion.

Our Companionship Volunteers engage Residents with meaningful conversation or with quiet activities such as reading, board games, card games, or other hobbies that are of interest to the Resident.

Providing our Residents with these valuable visits increases their sense of wellbeing and worth and helps them to continue to feel connected to the outside world. Your visits can often result in our Residents gaining the confidence to attend the group activities that are on offer throughout the day. Sometimes our Residents need that little bit of extra love and care and the support of a friendly Volunteer to get them out and about and mixing with the other Residents.
