Volunteer Entertainers Needed

Baptcare Orana Respite & Social Centre
Respite care gives family and carers a short break from looking after an elderly family member. It’s a chance for carers to take time out to recharge and look after their own health and wellbeing.
We offer homestyle meals and social interaction with new and old friends through various activities and events over the year.
Our day centres are friendly and comfortable, with care delivered by qualified and experienced carers. Day respite at our day centres is available Monday to Friday.
The Role
The role of the volunteer is vital in creating a sense of wellbeing, connection and community for seniors.
We are looking for a variety of different entertainers to perform for our clients and who can donate their time on a day between Monday to Friday from 1.00pm to 2.30pm, once every couple of months. Or possibly 11.00am-3.00pm for a special event day.
If you are a musician, magician, acrobat, dancer, comedian, have interesting animals (reptiles or other) or have a special talent, we'd love to hear from you!
New to performing? This is a great opportunity to gain experience performing in front of a group but also to engage with members of our community.
Do you have a friend who you'd like by your side, we are looking for a few entertainers to support us in this role so spread the word!
Your support as a volunteer means that our seniors get to have a more engaging and rewarding experience. Some older people have little to no family and need the added benefit of your friendship and support. You have the chance to brighten the lives of some really interesting individuals.
