Literacy Club Tutor - Assist an Asylum seeker, Refugee or Detainee

CARAD provides specialised welfare and advocacy assistance to asylum seekers, refugees and detainees, through our Client Services and Volunteer Programs.
As a Literacy Club Tutor, you’ll gain invaluable experience working with diverse backgrounds while making a significant impact on the social and emotional well-being of young learners. You’ll receive ongoing training and support to ensure you feel empowered in your role.
What You’ll Do
- Listen & Support: Help students read their school materials and offer positive feedback - to boost their confidence.
- Make Learning Fun: Participate in games and activities that turn reading into an exciting adventure!
- Create a Welcoming Space: Help cultivate an environment where every child feels valued and eager to learn.
- Be a Role Model: Show students the joy of reading and the importance of lifelong learning.
- Collaborate: Work closely with school staff and fellow volunteers to keep the club running smoothly.
- Communicate: Share successes and any challenges with our program coordinator to help us improve.
