By volunteering as a Volunteer Emergency Financial Assistance (EFA) Interviewer, you will provide emergency relief in the form of material assistance, such as food, vouchers, and bedding/linen, alongside community information and referrals to other services.

Your responsibilities will include greeting and interviewing clients, assessing their eligibility for assistance, completing paperwork accurately and promptly, advocating on behalf of clients when relevant, referring them to other services within Lutheran Care or appropriate services, replenishing pantry stock, adhering to LC's policies and procedures, modeling ethical behavior consistent with Lutheran Care's values and Code of Conduct, respecting privacy and confidentiality, maintaining a welcoming atmosphere, promoting and following LC's Work Health and Safety guidelines.

You will liaise with the Volunteer Leader by reporting for debriefing, advising if unable to meet commitments, reporting incidents, and practicing safe measures when working alone.

You will be non-judgmental and welcoming to people from all cultures and backgrounds and have the ability to be flexible.

Time commitment is approx. 3 hours per week

Volunteer hours would be every Tuesday for 3hrs from 9am – 12pm (preferred)
