Chief Event Coordinator – Wear a Flan for Shan
About The Flannel Project: The Flannel Project is dedicated to supporting survivors of veteran suicide by providing postvention care and creating a community of compassion. Our annual “Wear a Flan for Shan” event raises vital awareness and funds to support our mission.
Role Overview: We’re looking for a passionate and experienced Chief Event Coordinator to lead our upcoming "Wear a Flan for Shan" event on 21 June 2025. As the Chief Coordinator, you’ll take the lead in planning, organizing, and overseeing every detail of this meaningful event, ensuring a powerful and memorable experience for all attendees.
Key Responsibilities:
Event Planning: Develop an overall plan for the event, including timelines, budgets, and key deliverables. Team Leadership: Recruit and oversee a team of event coordinators, volunteers, and partners to support various event tasks. Logistics Management: Handle all logistics, including venue setup, equipment, permits, and safety requirements. Community Outreach: Engage local businesses, sponsors, and community partners to promote the event and secure sponsorships or donations. Marketing & Promotion: Work with the team to develop and execute a marketing plan to raise awareness and increase attendance. On-the-Day Oversight: Manage event flow, troubleshoot any issues, and ensure that all team members and activities align with the schedule. Skills and Experience Needed:
Previous experience in event planning or project management, ideally with volunteer or community events. Strong leadership and organizational skills, with the ability to motivate and coordinate a team. Excellent communication skills for working with sponsors, vendors, volunteers, and community partners. Problem-solving abilities and adaptability to handle unexpected challenges. Passion for The Flannel Project’s mission and a commitment to supporting those impacted by veteran suicide.
