Vehicle Driver (Sydney)
The Clinic Technician will play a key role in the smooth operation of Eyes of Hope’s mobile clinics by transporting equipment from our parking location in Sydney’s CBD to designated clinic locations and back.
This role supports our mission to deliver eye care services to underserved communities.
Key Responsibilities
- Drive Eyes of Hope’s vehicle from Ozanam Learning Centre (Sydney CBD) to the assigned clinic location (also Sydney CBD) and back at the end of the day.
- Load and unload equipment safely and assist with setup at the clinic site if needed.
- Conduct basic vehicle checks (fuel, tire pressure, oil) before trips to ensure safe operation.
- Perform stocktake of equipment in vehicle at end of clinic and send report to operations officer
- Report any maintenance issues to the Eyes of Hope administrative team.
- Follow all road safety regulations and Eyes of Hope’s vehicle operation policies.
- Maintain a clean and organised vehicle.
Qualifications
- Minimum Age: 21 years or older
- License: Valid Australian Driver’s License
- Experience: Previous experience in a driving role preferred but not essential; familiarity with Sydney roads and safe driving practices.
Skills: Good communication skills, reliability, and a proactive approach to supporting the team.
Working Hours: This is a volunteer role aligned with clinic schedules, typically requiring availability for pick-up, drop-off, and on-site support on clinic days.
