Volunteer to Teach English - Supporting Migrant and Refugee Women

Engaging in volunteer role teaching as a workshop facilitator is a fulfilling way to be part of a collective effort to create a more inclusive and supportive society for those in need.
You will need:
- Confidence in reading and writing in English
- A desire to help others learn
- Preferably to give 1 hour each week of your time however, we will accept volunteers on an ad hoc basis e.g. once a month
- Educational qualifications and/or professional and volunteer experience teaching English, teaching, or tutoring
Key duties:
- Design and create 1-hour lessons teaching English for our ASSIDA workshops. All workshops need to be on a basic level during the initial stages of the program as we have women with limited English abilities
- If you are not available on a weekly basis, you need to collaborate with other volunteers to ensure workshop content do not clash
- Help attendees complete the attendance sheet or surveys if required
- Find fun and innovative ways to help the women practice their English abilities through games, debates, bingo, brainstorming, etc.

- Reimbursement for transport (public transport or petrol) - receipts required -Attend ASSIDA cultural events and workshops for FREE
- Gain professional experience working for a registered charity, non for profit, and international aid organisation
