Overview

This role is designed to lead and manage Out For Australia’s social media presence, ensuring content is engaging, impactful, and aligned with our mission to empower LGBTQIA+ individuals. The Digital Content Manager - Social will oversee content creation, scheduling, and community interaction across platforms like TikTok, Instagram, LinkedIn, and Facebook, connecting with a diverse audience, particularly young people aged 18-25. By driving innovative social campaigns, amplifying community voices, and leveraging analytics, this role will strengthen OFA’s online engagement, foster inclusion, and help inspire the next generation of LGBTQIA+ leaders.

Responsibilities:

Social Media Management & Content Creation (40%)

  • Develop and execute engaging social media content across all platforms, including Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, TikTok, and Twitter/X.
  • Schedule, monitor, and manage posts to ensure consistent and timely communication aligned with OFA’s mission and brand voice.
  • Create original content, including graphics, captions, videos, and stories, that resonate with our audience and promote inclusivity, diversity, and empowerment.
  • Collaborate with other OFA teams to highlight stories, events, and initiatives, ensuring they are represented effectively across social media.
  • Respond to comments and messages, fostering an engaged and inclusive online community.

Campaign Development (30%)

  • Work with the wider OFA team to design and implement social media campaigns for key events and initiatives, such as GiveOUT Day, the 30 Under 30 Awards, and mentoring programs.
  • Coordinate promotional timelines, assets, and messaging for campaigns to maximise engagement and impact.
  • Experiment with new formats, trends, and social media features to drive innovation and keep content fresh.

Tracking & Analytics (20%)

  • Monitor and analyse social media performance using tools like Meta Business Suite, LinkedIn Analytics, or third-party platforms.
  • Provide regular reports on engagement, reach, and follower growth, with actionable insights to inform future strategies.
  • Adjust social media tactics based on data to optimise content performance and audience engagement.

General volunteer expectations (10%)

  • Undertake an OFA volunteer induction and role onboarding.
  • Understand and implement OFA’s strategy, vision and mission.
  • Uphold our volunteer code of conduct.
  • Assist with initiatives as required.
