Overview

The OFA team are mostly volunteers, working tirelessly to empower LGBTQIA+ people in the formative stages of their careers across Australia. We are a diverse mix of tertiary students, people in the early stages of their careers, and those more established. We come from a broad range of career, industry and educational backgrounds. Anyone who is willing to work hard and make a contribution to OFA is welcome on our team, including allies. We provide a unique opportunity for people to take up leadership positions to support our LGBTQIA+ community.

Responsibilities:

Email Campaign Creation & Management (50%)

-Design and execute engaging email campaigns, including newsletters, event promotions, mentoring program updates, and fundraising appeals. -Write and edit compelling email copy that resonates with OFA’s audience, reflecting our mission and values. -Collaborate with other OFA teams to source and include relevant updates, stories, and announcements. -Ensure all email content is aligned with OFA’s tone, brand, and accessibility standards.

Audience Segmentation & Personalisation (20%)

-Develop and manage audience segments to deliver tailored content that maximises engagement. -Implement personalisation strategies to ensure emails feel relevant and meaningful to different recipient groups, including mentees, mentors, supporters, and corporate partners. -Analytics & Optimisation (20%) -Monitor and analyse email performance metrics (e.g., open rates, click-through rates, conversions). -Provide regular reports on campaign performance, highlighting trends, successes, and areas for improvement. -Use A/B testing and other optimisation techniques to improve email effectiveness and engagement over time.

Email List Management & Compliance (10%)

-Maintain and grow OFA’s email subscriber lists while ensuring data integrity and privacy compliance (e.g., GDPR, Australian Privacy Act). -Manage opt-ins, opt-outs, and email preferences to keep the database up-to-date and aligned with best practices.

General volunteer expectations (10%)

  • Undertake an OFA volunteer induction and role onboarding.
  • Understand and implement OFA’s strategy, vision and mission.
  • Uphold our volunteer code of conduct.
  • Assist with initiatives as required.
