Volunteer Driver

Volunteers can assist with a variety of duties, including but not limited to: Meals on Wheels Deliveries: Drive and deliver nutritious meals to homebound individuals, ensuring they receive their meals in a timely and courteous manner. Patient Transport: Safely transport patients to and from medical appointments, providing a comfortable and supportive environment. Aged Care Bus Outings: Assist in driving the aged care bus for group outings, helping elderly participants engage in recreational and social activities. Community Group Activities: Provide transportation for community groups to attend planned activities, such as social events, activity sessions, and local excursions. Fleet Vehicle Management: Safely operate CGH fleet cars and vehicles, ensuring all necessary safety checks and maintenance protocols are followed as per organisational policies and procedures. Adhere to Policies and Procedures: Follow CGH policies, procedures, and Code of Conduct, including those related to road safety, confidentiality, mandatory reporting, and respectful non-discriminatory interaction with clients and staff. Mandatory Training: Attend required annual training, as set by CGH, to ensure compliance with safety standards, regulations, and service expectations. E. Life Skills, Experience and Qualifications • A valid and current Victorian driver’s license (manual or automatic, as required). • Clean driving record and reliability. • Ability to interact respectfully and compassionately with diverse groups, including elderly and vulnerable individuals. • Strong communication skills and the ability to work as part of a team. • Ability to manage time efficiently and follow through with responsibilities. • Previous experience in a volunteer or driving role is desirable, but not required. • Commitment to completing annual mandatory training for volunteers. • Physical Requirements • The ability to assist passengers with boarding and disembarking when necessary. • Ability to lift and carry light to moderate loads (e.g., meal delivery boxes). • A commitment to ensuring the safety and comfort of all passengers. • Commitment to completing annual mandatory manual handling education workshops
