Volunteer Tree Planting Project Officer

Volunteers will be crucial in ensuring the success of this project.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and manage the tree planting calendar, including identifying locations and times for planting events
  • Work with local communities, environmental groups, and local authorities to secure sites for tree planting
  • Organize tree-planting events
  • Recruit, train, and engage volunteers for tree-planting events
  • Provide guidance and support to volunteers during planting activities
  • Ensure a safe and productive environment for volunteers.
  • Track tree planting progress and document the success of the project
  • Monitor the growth and survival rates of planted trees
  • Assist in creating reports on tree planting activities and outcomes
  • Act as a liaison between the project and the local community, keeping residents informed about the benefits and goals of the tree-planting initiative
  • Procure and manage supplies necessary for planting activities.

Qualifications:

  • Proven experience in project management, event coordination, environmental initiatives, or related roles
  • Experience in managing teams
  • Ability to engage and motivate volunteers and community members
  • Excellent organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills
  • Knowledge of tree planting techniques and environmental best practices (preferred, but not required).
  • Ability to work outdoors in a variety of weather conditions
  • Must be adaptable, resourceful, and comfortable working in a team.
