Inpatient Support Volunteer at the Repat Health Precinct

CALHN Royal Adelaide Hospital Volunteer Unit

• Visit all patients within the ward and identify patients who have limited to no support/visitors to assist them • Provide information to patients on the support the RHP Volunteer Services Unit offers (meet and greet services) by providing general information related to their stay including their Rights and Responsibilities • Assist patients in the care of their flowers • Facilitating shopping requests such as purchasing items from the kiosk • Delivering clothing donations to those in need • Reading and playing games or puzzles with patients • Offer and facilitate services including walks in the gardens • Guiding and orientating patients and visitors to (and within) the hospital facility where required • Providing patients with practical support during the waiting period and, if requested, during rehabilitation • Liaising with patients and staff as requested to communicate non-clinical information • Offering comfort to family and friends of patients

Hours of Service Shift times: Between 8:30am to 4:00pm Days: Monday to Friday (excluding public holidays) Location of shift: Inpatient Wards throughout RHP Statewide Rehabilitation Services, Building 12
