Cooper House - Wellbeing Assistant Volunteer in Aged Care, Chermside

Cooper House in Wheller Gardens Aged Care Community located at Chermside is seeking a volunteer to assist the Allied Health representative on Tuesday mornings from 9:00am - 10:30am during group exercise sessions.

The Wellbeing Assistant Volunteer can assist residents by:

• Accompanying residents to the group activity and assisting residents as required during the activity program.
• Assisting with setting up and packing up of the group activity.
• Assisting with the group exercise task for the day.
• Providing companionship and a sense of belonging.
• Communicating resident feedback to staff to assist in improving both the activity and enhancing resident enjoyment.

This volunteering role is suitable for people who are physically fit, have well developed interpersonal skills, excellent communication skills and display a calm and empathetic manner when engaging with residents. Volunteering is a wonderful way to make a difference in the lives of our senior residents while making friends, having fun and learning new skills.

Volunteering hours at Cooper House currently available for this role are Tuesday mornings from 9:00am - 10:30am.

All our volunteers follow a COVID-19 safe work plan and provide proof they have received a minimum of one primary COVID-19 vaccination before they are registered in their role.

Volunteers will also be required to have a current NDIS Workers Screening Clearance prior to commencement. This can be applied for through Wesley Mission Queensland at no cost to you.
