Assisting our Activity Officer in engaging older adults in meaningful and stimulating activities, you will provide essential support in creating a positive, inclusive environment where participants can socialize, enjoy activities, and meet new people.

This volunteer role will allow you to develop practical skills in working with older individuals and those living with dementia and includes: • Assisting and encouraging clients in participating in tailored group activities such as games, arts and crafts, and light exercises. • Offering social engagement and building rapport with clients through friendly conversations • Providing support and direction to clients as needed, particularly those with cognitive/hearing/visual impairments • Helping create a warm, compassionate atmosphere, ensuring all clients feel comfortable, respected and included • Assisting with setting up, preparation and packing away of activities i.e. arts and crafts • Assisting with serving clients refreshments, afternoon/morning tea or lunch, as required

You'll be reliable, patient, able to commit to regular shifts and have excellent communication skills.

You'll gain hands-on experience in working with older adults, build new skills, make new relationships and contribute to making a real difference in the lives of older people.
