Do you enjoy a good yarn?? Volunteers are needed for Aboriginal Communities (NORTHERN SUBURBS)

As a Volunteer Visitor, you’ll provide company to Aboriginal Elders, offering a space for connection, sharing stories and sharing lived experiences. These visits are a chance to brighten their day with a friendly face, offer a listening ear and spend time in meaningful conversation.
You’ll visit based on your availability, bringing a sense of connection and comfort to our Elders, whether it's through a yarn, sharing news or simply spending time with them.
The time commitment is approximately 1 hour every fortnight, but it's flexible depending on your availability.
We’re looking for volunteers who are respectful, kind-hearted and empathetic, with an understanding of the unique challenges faced by Aboriginal people. Your role will be about creating a safe, welcoming space where our Elders can feel respected and valued.
This role is part of the Aged Care Volunteer Visitors Scheme, an Australian Government-funded program that strengthens connections between those in an aged care facility or in their own home in the broader community.
