Kitchen Garden Program Volunteer

Holland Street School

Holland Street School offers enriching and supportive learning experiences for students aged 4-18, empowering those with diverse abilities, including intellectual and physical disabilities, sensory impairments, autism spectrum disorders, and unique developmental needs!

The students do an excellent job in the school garden and kitchen growing, harvesting, preparing and sharing food, but they need a little bit of help!!

We are using the food the students grow to cook with & eat, as well as make items to sell at their “Little Red Shop” stall.

We are seeking volunteers to help:

  • Maintain our fruit tree area
  • Tend to our shade house: raise seeds, nurture seedlings, propagate plants for our garden and our shop.
  • Make preserves from our fresh produce
  • Sewing tasks
  • Signage for our garden
  • Other regular and one-off kitchen and garden tasks… what is your specialty?

You don’t have to be an expert, you just have to love growing food, preparing food and helping children and your community. The time commitment can be a one-off, or a regular gig, whatever suits you best.
