Mernda Neighbourhood House Committee Members

As Mernda Neighbourhood House is currently an auspice of Whittlesea Community Connections, newly elected members will support the incorporation process. We wish to incorporate MNH in 2025. The interim Committee members are not legally responsible until MNH becomes incorporated.
As a local, place based organisation, MNH is looking for committee members who live, work, study or play in the City of Whittlesea. The Committee will be made up of three Officer Bearer roles including, Chairperson, Deputy Chairperson, Secretary and Treasurer. Three ordinary members including one representative from our current volunteers, will also be elected.
We are looking to attract people with a variety of competencies and skills to successfully fulfil these roles. The new Committee will take responsibility for the governance of MNH with the operations of the House delegated to the Manager of MNH and other staff. MNH is committed to the principles of inclusion, equity and diversity.
Key Resonponsabilities :_ To govern the organisation in accordance with legislation, the Rules of Association and any other duties or policies that arise from time to time. The Committee is responsible for the financial viability and the ongoing strategic direction of the organisation. The Committee’s role is to ensure that sufficient funds are available for the organisation to meet its liabilities. The Committee sets the strategic vision and delegates the operation of the organisation to the Manager. The Committee must monitor and evaluate the Manager’s progress towards meeting the stated objectives.
