Anam Cara - Bus Outing Assistant Volunteer in Aged Care, Bray Park

Anam Cara at Bray Park is seeking enthusiastic volunteers who are interested in accompanying and assisting residents on their weekly bus outings. This involves assisting residents as they enter and exit the bus, engaging in conversations, and most importantly, having fun together! Volunteering hours available for this role are Mondays, between 9am to 3pm.
These activities assist residents with socialising, promoting a sense of well-being and encouraging community connectedness. Most importantly they bring joy and create smiles!
The Bus Outing Volunteer can help residents by:
- Engaging and connecting with residents.
- Offering assistance to residents as they enter and exit the bus.
- Supporting the Leisure and Lifestyle Coordinator.
- Communicating resident feedback to staff to assist in improving both the activity and resident enjoyment.
This role is suitable for people who have well developed interpersonal skills, excellent communication skills and display a calm and empathetic manner when engaging with residents. Volunteering is a wonderful way to make a difference in the lives of our senior residents while making friends, having fun and learning new skills.
Volunteering hours available for this role are Mondays, between 9am and 3pm. Volunteer times are negotiated prior to commencement.
This program is located within the Anam Cara Aged Care Community where the residents enjoy a wonderful sense of life, fun, and friendship.

All our volunteers follow a COVID-19 safe work plan and provide proof they have received a minimum of one primary COVID-19 vaccination before they are registered in their role.
Volunteers will also be required to have a current NDIS Workers Screening Clearance prior to commencement. This can be applied for through Wesley Mission Queensland at no cost to you.
