Female volunteers required for friendly visits to elderly in Southport (ACVVS)

MiCare is looking for an English speaking volunteer that can share a smile and companionship during biweekly friendly visits to an isolated elderly in Southport on the Gold Coast. This lady loves to chat, engage and share stories with a mature female volunteer.
Volunteering brings fun and fulfilment to your life and makes a huge difference to those in the community seeking companionship.
Visits may be spent talking or sharing in a simple leisure activity together. Your regular visits can make a real and positive difference in the life of these residents.
We ask volunteers to commit to weekly visits for at least 6 months, however this is an ongoing role and we hope to support your friendship for as long as possible.
Volunteers receive training, orientation, ongoing support, travel reimbursement and invitations to meetings together with other visiting volunteers.
This program is part of the Aged Care Volunteer Visitors Scheme (ACVVS) - an Australian Government initiative.
