Driver - Toowoomba Aged Community Service
About the Position
This is your opportunity to provide assistance to our clients who are living in their own homes, throughout the Toowoomba region. We are seeking a friendly and dedicated volunteer driver to assist with transporting clients to and from an allocated venue. This essential role will support our aged clients and provide a lovely opportunity for them to have some social interaction.
Along with a regular commitment, this volunteer position requires someone to: • Drive safely, defensively and within the law • Assist clients in and out of the vehicle (may include clients using wheel walkers) • Communicate in a warm, friendly and engaging manner • Relate effectively with a variety of people with different needs • May be required to drive an Anglicare Southern Queensland bus
Your open, caring and friendly manner will be backed up with: • Ability to develop rapport and interact positively with clients • A clean driving record and current Queensland licence • An understanding and respect for privacy and physical disabilities • Ability to work with limited supervision and maintain professional boundaries • A flexible attitude and motivation to work with respect, care and courtesy

What We Need From You • Participation – in orientation, safe work practices and manual handling training, a First Aid/CPR certificate is essential for this role • Availability – minimum 4 hours a day on any day Monday through to Friday except Wednesdays we have no programs on Wednesdays • Consistency and reliability – willing to commit to on an ongoing basis for at least 6 months. • Confidentiality – this is critical to us and you will need to sign a Role Description that includes a confidentiality agreement. • Two (2) referees • National Police Clearance – we organise and pay for this if you don’t already have one. • Current Queensland drivers licence with a clean driving record
