Would you like to play chess with an older friend in Aged Care?

MS Plus is funded to provide a volunteer visiting program – the Aged Care Volunteer Visitors Scheme (ACVVS). Volunteer Visitors share stories, go for a stroll or have a cuppa, listen to music or play a board game. Our volunteers play a vital role in the life of a person living in an aged care home or their own home through ongoing friendship.

A friendly gentleman living in aged care would benefit from a friendly visitor who could play chess with him. Can you make a difference and give an hour per week to brighten up someone's day?

You need to be warm, caring, reliable and be willing to commit to at least fortnightly visits for a minimum of 6 months.

Good English communication skills are required for this recipient, however volunteers with other languages willing to be matched to the same language are very welcome to enquire.
