About the Role: Glen Park Community Centre Inc., in collaboration with an Employment Service Provider, is seeking enthusiastic and dedicated volunteers to support the Food for Thought Outreach Service. This vital service will help jobseekers access food support at employment service provider sites across Lilydale, Ringwood, and Wantirna. As a volunteer, you will play a key role in ensuring jobseekers have the nourishment they need to focus on their employment journey.

Key Duties:

  • Assist Emergency Relief Coordinator with sourcing food donations from local businesses and food rescue organisations.
  • Assist with packing of food parcels.
  • Support the delivery of food parcels to designated sites including Lilydale, Ringwood & Wantirna.
  • Assist with the distribution of food parcels to jobseekers in a friendly and supportive manner.
  • Work alongside other volunteers and staff to ensure the smooth operation of the outreach service.

Skills & Experience Needed:

  • A passion for helping others and a commitment to community support.
  • Good communication skills, with the ability to interact effectively with people from diverse backgrounds.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Basic organisation skills to assist with sorting and packing of food parcels.

All training is provided on the job.
