Acoustic Guitar Teacher

Provide group and/or one on one acoustic guitar lessons to marginalised and disadvantaged individuals providing an opportunity for them to express themselves in healthy ways, develop new skills and find a sense of community. You will:

  • provide a fun and engaging acoustic guitar lessons in a group and/or one on one environment across a variety of music genres

  • work and engage learners of different skill levels in guitar and music

  • assist students in setting reasonable learning goals

  • provide positive feedback on student progress and encourage the students' progress and focus on achieving their goals.

You will need:

  • to be proficient in acoustic guitar across a variety of genres with the ability to teach at an introductory level

  • passion for music with an ability to motivate others

  • have a great interpersonal skills

  • Experience delivering group or individual guitar lessons would be beneficial

  • respect the individuality of each service user/visitor and treat them in a caring and non-judgmental manner

  • Ability to refrain from imposing your own philosophical, moral or religious standards/beliefs upon service users

  • Ability to support Mission Australia purpose and values and work in accordance with policies and procedures
