Location: Remote within Australia (volunteer-based)
Reports to: Chief People Officer
Type: Volunteer Role (Approx. 2–4 hours per week)
Out for Australia (OFA) is a national, volunteer-run not-for-profit organisation dedicated to supporting aspiring LGBTQIA+ professionals as they navigate the early stages of their careers. We aim to create an inclusive, supportive, and empowering environment where every volunteer and participant feels valued and seen.
About the Role
We are seeking a passionate and strategic People Operations Manager to join our People & Culture (P&C) team. This role is crucial in shaping an exceptional volunteer experience, driving engagement, recognition, and operational excellence across OFA.
You'll work closely with the Chief People Officer (CPO) and department leaders to deliver critical initiatives that enhance how we attract, support, and celebrate our volunteers.
This role requires a commitment of approximately 2–4 hours per week and offers flexible working arrangements to fit around your other life and professional commitments.
Key Responsibilities -
First 3 months:
Redesign and improve the Volunteer Onboarding Experience to ensure a warm, consistent, and empowering introduction to OFA.
3–6 months:
Develop and launch a Volunteer Rewards and Recognition Program in partnership with the Chief People Officer.
Celebrate and acknowledge the invaluable contributions of our volunteers.
6–9 months:
Lead the project to streamline our Volunteer Record System, ensuring accurate, secure, and user-friendly data management.
9 months and beyond:
Drive People & Culture Continuous Improvement Workstreams to build a stronger, more vibrant volunteer experience across the organisation. Management of the P&C team.
About You
You are someone who:
Has experience in HR, People Operations, Volunteer Management, or Organisational Development.
Is passionate about creating inclusive, people-first experiences.
Has excellent project management skills and thrives on driving initiatives through to completion.
Enjoys collaborating across diverse teams and leading by influence.
Believes that recognition, engagement, and operational excellence are key to sustaining organisational culture.
Is committed to LGBTQIA+ inclusion and passionate about Out for Australia's mission.
