Kororoit Creek Neighbourhood House is a community-managed Neighbourhood House and Eco-Living Centre providing a diverse range of programs, workshops, activities and events to the communities of Albion, Ardeer and broader Brimbank area. KCNH offers a space for all community members to connect and participate.
Position description:
Albion Multicultural Carers Group is a peer social support group for carers living in Brimbank who are currently supporting a family member or friend who has a disability, developmental delay, medical condition, mental illness or frail due to age.
The group meets twice a month on Mondays 12pm to 2pm, with members coming together to enjoy different activities and socialise. Activities are suggested by the group for the group and include art and wellbeing activities, guest speakers and outings.
The Carers Group Volunteer will support the KCNH Coordinator in the planning, preparation and delivery of group sessions, including welcoming new members, set up and pack down of activities, working with group to identify suitable activities, and accompanying the group on outings. To be considered for this role, volunteers must be available on Mondays between 11am and 3pm.

Willingness to assist with practical tasks: You are happy to help with setting up tables and chairs, preparing light lunches, and cleaning up after sessions.

Good communication and interpersonal skills: You can listen well, speak clearly, and work respectfully with people from diverse backgrounds.

Reliable and committed: You can attend group sessions on time, twice a month on Mondays, and are committed to staying in the role for at least 6 months.
Desirable (but not required)
- Lived experience as an unpaid carer If you’ve cared for a family member or friend, your experience and understanding will be highly valued — but it's not essential.

Commitment required:
Ongoing - 6 months or longer
