The Tutor Facilitator leads each workshop step by step for the children to follow and assistants help them in each stage. Ability to work with children aged from 5 to 17 is necessary and a friendly caring demeanor essential. While experience in any art forms is a bonus, volunteers can be beginners who are capable of learning to follow instructions. In exchange for volunteer hours, the volunteers can be given equivalent time in studio hours. With our tutored workshops, the volunteers can join in for free tuition and just pay for materials and firing costs. The Volunteers will have the chance to try out and learn new art forms and gain knowledge in techniques and processes.

Training

For interested individuals you can have the opportunity to be involved in a non profit organisation that provides art learning workshops to the community. While assisting students at the workshops, you will have hands on learning of techniques and methods used in each art medium.

Time required

We run Children's Activities every school holiday break (LCC KRANK) and are often in need of extra helpers to assist facilitating the workshops. Most classes are 10am to 12pm M-F with a couple of afternoon ones 1pm to 3pm when allocated. The School Holidays are our busiest time of the year so we need to draw up a roster of teachers and volunteers for whatever days they are available to assist. Choice of which days to assist is flexible. Our Studios are in Logan.

Reimbursement

In exchange for volunteering time, you will be given equivalent studio time to engage in any artistic activities you wish. With our tutored workshops, you can join in for free tuition and just pay for materials and firing costs. Aprons are provided.

Working with Children Check

As we have children in attendance for different classes, the volunteer will require a Blue Card, which we can organise for them. No arts experience is required as you will learn as you go.
