Volunteer Digital Mentor
COTA Tasmania is seeking enthusiastic and patient volunteers aged 16 and over to join our Generations Connect Digital Inclusion Program as Digital Mentors. This intergenerational initiative pairs younger people with older Tasmanians living in aged care homes to help them build confidence using digital devices like smartphones, tablets, and computers.
As a Digital Mentor, you’ll receive training through the nationally recognised Be Connected Young Mentors Program, equipping you with the skills to support older adults in one-on-one or small group settings.
Key Responsibilities

Participate in the Young Mentors Program training (approx. 5 hours total)

Provide friendly, respectful and patient digital support to older adults

Assist with common digital tasks such as using email, accessing apps, online safety, video calling, and social media

Help build the confidence and independence of older people in a safe and supported environment

Maintain confidentiality and follow all safeguarding procedures

Attend scheduled mentoring sessions in your local community or aged care facility
