Drivers & Deliverers

Driver Use your own vehicle to deliver 3 course meals. Load meal boxes (2 person lift – moderate to heavy lifting), transport a Passenger, and engage with customers. Physical Requirements: Ability to drive for up to 2 hours and lift medium weight meal boxes (approx. 5 kg). Other Requirements: Valid driver’s license, comprehensive insurance. Fuel reimbursement available.

Passenger (Deliverer) Assist the Driver by carrying meals to doorsteps, engaging with customers, and conducting simple wellbeing checks. Physical Requirements: Ability to get in and out of a car frequently, walk short distances, and carry lightweight meal packs and lift medium weight meal boxes (approx. 5 kg).

Kitchen Helpers

Fresh Cook Kitchen Helper Help prepare meals from scratch (e.g. chopping, peeling, assembling). Also responsible for cleaning and maintaining hygiene standards. Physical Requirements: Ability to stand for extended periods (up to 3 hours), lift light items, and perform repetitive motions. Seated tasks may be available upon request.

Cook Chill Kitchen Helper Reheat and portion pre-prepared meals. Support food packaging and kitchen hygiene tasks. Physical Requirements: Similar to Fresh Cook—standing, light lifting, and working in a fast-paced kitchen environment. Seated breaks available.

Social Connections

At Home Volunteer Visit customers at home for regular social chats and check-ins. Encourage participation in MoWSA activities and connect them with services. Physical Requirements: Minimal—may involve driving or short walks; light activity only.

Group Services Volunteer Help run group social activities by greeting guests, confirming attendance, assisting with meals, and packing up. Physical Requirements: Light physical activity including walking, setting up tables, and occasional lifting (e.g. serving trays).

Administration Support Description: Assist with office tasks at a MoWSA branch, including data entry, answering calls, managing rosters, printing, filing, and general administrative duties related to kitchen branch operations. Physical Requirements: Low. Seated indoor work with minimal physical exertion. Suitable for volunteers with limited mobility or those who prefer desk-based tasks.

Branch Committee Member Description: Support the local branch by assisting with decision-making, problem-solving, and volunteer coordination. Collaborate with the committee to ensure smooth branch operations and enhance community engagement. Physical Requirements: Low. Mainly involves attending meetings and participating in planning activities. Suitable for volunteers comfortable in a leadership or advisory capacity.
