Assist the Treasurer in managing the organization's financial operations, including budgeting, reporting, and financial record-keeping.

Support the preparation of financial statements and reports for the Management Committee.

Monitor income and expenditure to ensure the financial stability of the Society.

Help ensure compliance with relevant regulations and financial policies.

Collaborate with other volunteers and contribute to the smooth running of the Society’s financial functions.
We currently use “Reckon” for our accounting. We can train the successful candidate if they have not used Reckon before.
This role would suit a recently retired person and offers the chance to contribute to an important cause while gaining valuable experience in financial management within a volunteer-led organization.
This position would suit a retired person but all applicants will be considered. Whilst this is a virtual role, it will be necessary for the volunteer to attend the office in Sydney on a regular basis.
Benefits: A lot of the work can be done remotely. The NHSA office is in the boatshed at Garden Island and open on Tuesdays and Thursdays. Fabulous views of the Harbour while you work. You can get close up and personal with the Navy fleet and ships in the Captain Cook Graving Dock. Occasionally you will be able to join a guided tour of a RAN ship or a visiting ship. The fleet review next year will be a very interesting spectacle when ships from other countries come to Sydney.
