Board Director (Voluntary; North East VIC / Southern NSW)

Alpine Valleys Community Leadership

Alpine Valleys Community Leadership (AVCL) is seeking new Board Directors to contribute strategic oversight and support the organisation’s continued impact across North East Victoria and Southern NSW.

Since 1998, AVCL has delivered place-based leadership and capacity-building programs that equip people to lead with purpose, confidence, and connection. Our work is grounded in community – shaped by the people, places, and priorities of North East Victoria and Southern NSW. We are committed to equity and inclusion, designing programs that are accessible, relevant, and reflective of lived experience.

Guided by our values, we strive for excellence in everything we do. We stay responsive to changing needs, take a creative and practical approach to strengthening communities, and build relationships based on respect, care, and shared benefit.

Our voluntary Board Directors play a critical role in guiding this work and ensuring it continues to evolve.

Our Board is skills-based and benefits from a wide range of perspectives, backgrounds, and lived experience. We welcome applications from across all industries, sectors, and communities.

We are especially interested in applicants based in regional Southern NSW or those with insight into the challenges faced by the communities we serve.

Skills and experience in the following areas will be particularly valuable:

  • Business development
  • Fundraising and philanthropy
  • Marketing and communications
  • Human resources
  • Legal and governance
  • Entrepreneurship
  • Stakeholder engagement

About the Role Board Directors serve on both Alpine Valleys Community Leadership Ltd and Alpine Valleys Community Leadership Fund Ltd (a DGR-1 registered entity).

  • Monthly board meetings via Zoom (fourth Tuesday of the month, evenings, approx. 3 hours)
  • Monthly subcommittee meetings (1 hour via Zoom)
  • Participation in the Annual General Meeting and selected events
  • Voluntary position, commencing at the October AGM
