The 2.5 hour class will take place in a gymnasium that contains a volleyball court, treadmills, peck-deck, weights-machine and other equipment. The Instructor will provide a flexible work-out routine that caters for different ages and levels of fitness within the prison community, giving up to twelve offenders an opportunity to experience an entry level work-out experience. Part of the session time is to be utilised to deliver additional information upon healthy living e.g. appropriate dietary facts and simple exercise techniques that can be performed in limited space on a daily basis. The Instructor will get the opportunity to introduce a regular work-out routine to women from a variety of backgrounds who may not have previously experienced professional gym use and who may be struggling with drug dependency. The Instructor will also experience working within an unusual and challenging environment.
