Are you seeking a board position that genuinely affects positive change? Would you like to use your skills to directly impact the lives of disadvantaged children by working closely with a local NGO? CKC is looking for volunteer board directors who can bring skills in fundraising, grants, sponsorship, education and governance to the Board, have good professional networks and have a passion to help in Cambodia.
Cambodian Kids Can (CKC) has been operating for more than 10 years in Prey Veng, Cambodia. During that time, by working collaboratively with a local NGO, we’ve empowered hundreds of children and young adults through education.
We are a small organisation with a dynamic and driven board. Your actions will have a direct impact on the lives of the children with whom we work. You will have the ability to create and lead real change by working directly with the local NGO to develop education programs and services in the Prey Veng community.
You will quickly get to know the people of Prey Veng and their stories; they are the reason why we commit our efforts to this region. You will also encounter lots of opportunities and challenges as the organisation transitions into the exciting next phase of its growth.
CKC operates two projects in Prey Veng.
• Mekhala House provides orphaned and at-risk girls with a safe place to live and the opportunity to receive a comprehensive education through to university or vocational training; and • Mekhala Learning Centre (MLC) is a computer, internet and English school for children from poor families. The MLC also has the largest free public library in Prey Veng.
We are looking for passionate people who can bring skills in fundraising, grants, sponsorship, education and governance to the Board. Board members are required to commit on average 5 hours a week.
