Every year volunteers give more than 150,000 hours of valuable support. Our volunteers work: In our opportunity shops – raising funds which directly support our programs.

Save the Children places high importance on creating respectful, valued and engaging internal and external relationships. Our volunteers are the face of our organisation, whether serving in one of our shops, working on a program or simply conversing with friends and family. We want you to be informed about our work, have access to the tools and training to carry out your role, be a great ambassador for Save the Children. We aim to support each other, work together and recognise that we all play a vital role. Each volunteer brings their own unique qualities to the organisation. We recognise and value this diversity.

We actively work towards organisational relationships based on trust, honesty, respect, integrity, compassion, understanding, recognition, participation, fairness and equity. We acknowledge that this requires resources, effective communication, reflection and active engagement.
