Help older adults engage in social activities - Templer and Tabulam homes

Tabulam and Templer Homes for the AGED
  1. Garden Club – Mondays (1.00-3.00pm) to assist a staff member and an international volunteer and in their absence to facilitate the group. A love of all things gardening and a green finger is needed;

  2. Singing and Reading group – Mondays (3.00-4.00pm) to assist a volunteer and international volunteers and in their absence to facilitate the group;

  3. Movie Night – Mondays (6.00-8.30pm) to assist a staff member and an international volunteer in serving drinks and refreshments to our resident and the helping in tidying up afterwards;

  4. Exercise/Physio – Tuesdays and Thursdays (10.00-11.00am) to assist a staff member and international volunteers. This is a gentle exercise session and is usually done using equipment such as large balloons or balls or other small items;

  5. Baking with Barb – Tuesdays and Thursdays (1.30-3.30pm) to assist Barb our volunteer and international volunteers. This is a fairly new activity and we require someone who enjoys baking and to help residents with handling baking equipment, cookie cutters and roling pins and assisting in the tidying up afterwards;

  6. Café – Tuesdays and Thursdays (2.00-4.00pm) to assist the international volunteers in setting up and serving coffee and refreshments in the café and helping in the tidying up afterwards;

  7. Bingo – Tuesdays (3.00-4.00pm) to assist the international volunteers and in their absence facilitate the activity;

  8. Shopping trip – Wednesdays (9.30-11.30am) to assist international volunteer with a weekly shopping trip to a local shopping centre in either Bayswater or Boronia;

  9. Games and Cards – Thursdays (3.00-4.00pm) to assist the internationalvolunteers and in their absence facilitate the activity;

  10. Mens Shed – Fridays (9.30-11.30am) to assist a staff member to run the group. This activity includes a variety of things: building something, woodwork or could be a cup of tea and a chat;
  11. Happy Hour – Fridays (3.30-4.30pm) to assist staff and international volunteers in serving drinks and refreshments to our residents and helping in the tidying up afterwards.
