Bridges
Transport frail and isolated persons residing in Knox to appointments with your own car or a Bridges vehicle.
Drive the client to an appointment/activity, and pick up the client at an appointed place and time; Escort the client to and from their residence and the appointment/activity; Collect donations after each drive and issue a receipt to the client, if driving your own vehicle and hand in donations collected at the end of each month. In Bridges cars hand in money in Bridges envelope when handing back the car keys; Record all drives on the Bridges log sheets supplied; Return the log sheet on the Friday before the 1 st Monday of the month or the Friday before the 3 rd Monday of the month. Maintain your car in a safe, tidy and roadworthy condition; Be prepared to undergo an Annual Vehicle Checkup; ideally this will occur in the month of your birthday; Be responsible for paying all infringements, tickets, etag or freeway tolls
Skills/Qualifications: Relates well to seniors, empathetic, good listener Be a patient person as some drives will require waiting for/with the client as they wait for specialists/doctors Enjoy driving and spending time with seniors or people with special needs Would not be a known risk to vulnerable seniors in an isolated setting Be punctual and reliable Be willing to escort door to door and to assist clients as needed within the boundaries of the position Have knowledge of driving area, able to navigate to locations Have a current Drivers Licence Have minimum Comprehensive Insurance on the vehicle being used Have a safe driving record Have access to a vehicle that is registered, insured, roadworthy, reliable and suitable for client needs Have no health conditions that may impair ability to drive safely (vision, hearing, perception, reflexes) Have good judgment; able to gauge client and driving conditions Be physically able to offer minimal assistance to frail clients Be trustworthy, and able to handle a small cash flow
