Respite camps and activities for children Kids Under Kanvas delivers respite programs to 8-18 year old with mild to moderate disabilities. Respite activities are designed to be inclusive, fun, educational and socially appropriate, with an emphasis on ability rather than the disability of participants. We’re seeking volunteers right across Melbourne to lead and support our programs, including camps and activities, on weekends and school holidays.
Support for day programs Our community programs provide a range of services to people with disabilities. You can get involved with day-based group programs and outings, or provide one-to-one support to a person, helping them develop new skills and participate in their community. We also need volunteers to provide administrative assistance to the program. Programs operate during business hours, Monday to Friday.
Companionship and outings We provide residential services for adults with disability across the eastern and southern areas of Melbourne, with an emphasis on community participation. Volunteers are needed to provide one-to-one companionship on weekends to a resident, or attend group outings and activities.
Assist employment and creative activities Fire & Clay offers supported employment and art activities to people with disability including pottery, painting, photography and performing arts. We’re seeking patient, creative people to support both individuals and small groups with their art work between the hours of 8.30am and 4.30pm, Monday to Thursday, in Lilydale. Administrative and reception assistance is also welcome.
Volunteer Opportunities at Wesley Neurological Support Services We have residential facilities in Burwood East for people with Huntington’s disease and other complex neurological conditions. We have a range of opportunities available to support residents with their personal interests, attend outings and provide companionship. Or volunteer with our recreational staff and assist residents to participate in leisure activities of their choice.
